By using crochet hook, seam each side by joining the last sts from each side together. This will produce a neat seamed. When done seam, bring out the knit side and fold purl side back inside. You will now have your hat! What we need to do next is to make it look more cuter by attaching a flower.

Free Crochet Pattern: January Baby/Toddler Beanie

Alhamdulillah.. we are still here, still breathing, still alive exactly on 1st January of 2014. Shouldn’t we be more grateful than before? ๐Ÿ™‚ Well of course, there is nothing wrong in having a new big ambition for a new year, but remember. the fundamental of being a human is always to feel grateful for what we have and never being ashamed for what we don’t have. Always down to earth <3

However, the things that always never fail to amaze me is how the time works and always passed by like a blink of an eye. Leaving things behind like they were never happened. Feels like it was a dream, or a nightmare. SubhanAllah.. How great Allah is! Cause everything that happened, there is a blessing in disguise. SubhanAllah.

Oh, okay. The reason I am writing today is actually to share my new pattern ๐Ÿ™‚
As how everyone else, I also want to take this opportunity and be a part on this exciting first of January 2014 with sharing my new pattern that I made 2 days ago. So I named it as January ๐Ÿ™‚ Easy to remember hehe..

Tutorial Mengait Topi: Ruffle Hat (Knitting Version)

1. Cast on LONG TAIL CAST ON

2. KNIT

3. PURL

4. BIND OFF

5. MAKE ONE – increase stitch

6. JAHIT TEPI/SEW SEAM menggunakan crochet hook saiz 3.00mm.

ARAHAN PATTERN:

Cast On 9 sts (membuat tapak kaitan sebanyak 9 sts menggunakan LONG TAIL CAST ON seperti gambar di bawah)

Kemudian, baris pertama bermula. Iaitu:

ROW 4,6,8: PURL – setiap baris genap, kait PURL.

ROW 5: K1 (yfwd, K3) 8 times, 33 stitches as total –ย

Cont (continue) in same manner, inc (increase) 8 stitches on next and every following alt (alternate) row to 89 (97-97-105) sts.

Arahan seterusnya:

Cont. (continue) in stocking stย  even until work from marked row measures 3 inc or 7.5cm ( setelah habis baris PURL, teruskan mengait dan TIDAK PERLU INCREASE LAGI dalam bentuk stockinette stitch pattern iaitu Knit 1 baris, Purl 1 baris dan ulang sehingga panjang yang dikehendaki) seperti gambar di bawah:

Untuk Make One, lihat TUTORIAL MAKE ONE ini.

Kemudian, arahan seterusnya:

Knit 6 rows in garter stitch.

Selamat mencuba!

Materials:

Any size of needles ( and here I am using 4.00mm x 40 cm circular needles)

Any Medium yarns ( and here I am using Yazgulu Ice Yarns )

Thread needle

Card for making tassel (if necessary)

Instructions:

Band:

Cast On 80 sts (for baby to 2-3 years old)

At the beginning of sts, place a marker to mark your starting point. Make sure your that your stitches are not twisting. We are going to work in the round.

Row 1: [K2,P2]

Row 2: [P2,K2]

Repeat Row 1 – Row 2 until you desired length ( or at least until 10 rows)

Body:

After you done with Row 1 and Row 2, continue the next rows with Knit.

Next Rows: Keep doing Knit Stitch — ( At least to 10-15 cm length from Casting On) or until your desired length.

Binding off:

Then,

Using the thread needle, close up the top part with Kitchener Stitch:

**for this part, don’t forget to divide your stitches fairly into two needles (like magic loop). For example: Since you are casting on 80 sts, for Kitchener stitch, divide your sts into 40-40 then follow the instruction below to bind off your top:

(PF,KB,**KF(drop)PF,PB(drop),KB**) – Repeat this ** to ** until the end of the last row.

F- Front, B- Back.

For Kitchener Stitch tutorial, please refer here: http://www.aheys.com/knittingdanprojeksaya/my-first-design-cabled-seed-handphone-cozy/

At last, you can put two tassels on each side of your hat just like in the picture ๐Ÿ™‚

You can refer to this tutorial for making tassels: http://techknitting.blogspot.com/2008/06/how-to-make-tassels.html (Thank you to Techknitting for tutorial)

Happy knitting everyone ๐Ÿ™‚
